Textbook Overview
- Instructors request textbooks through their Academic Departments by May of the current academic year to prepare for the upcoming year.
- Departments share requests and textbooks required for distribution with the Textbook Manager.
- Academic Departments purchase any new textbooks and ship to the Textbook Manager.
Selection Process
- The Library provides Department Chairs with a list of all available textbooks for their department.
- Instructors can access this list through their Chairs or upon request through the Textbook Manager.
- Textbooks may be selected per Department guidelines from our existing textbook collection, our Library catalog, Open Educational Resources, as well as Open Access materials.
Distribution
- Instructor textbooks are distributed in May-July and are available upon request.
- Fall student textbooks are distributed in August prior to student move-ins with the assistance of student and staff volunteers.
- Spring student textbooks are distributed in January at the end of J-term.
